Olivia Knowles

Olivia is an English artist born in Blackpool, now living in Wigan, in the North West of England. Her artistic journey started at Byrchall High School, when she was introduced to clay sculpture, which she continued to explore in further education. During her time at Winstanley College she explored themes like sea life to build her clay knowledge and skills, and later went on the curate an installation of a psychoanalysis of Willy Wonka (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) for her Art Foundation Diploma, which featured a variety of clay and plaster food sculptures. Whilst also exploring the use of light at this time, specifically neon light, Olivia uncovered her desire to create neon installations. In the present day, Olivia currently studies Fine Art (BA) at the University of Cumbria, in Carlisle. Here she wishes to improve her skills and refine her work as an inspiring light instillation artist.
